WHY GET AN ULTRASOUND?
Just because you are pregnant does not mean you will stay pregnant.
Did you know 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage naturally?
An ultrasound can help in three ways. It can confirm:
-
if you are pregnant,
-
how far along you might be,
-
and if the pregnancy is likely to continue.
This information will help you determine all your options. We offer comfortable, private appointments with licensed professionals.

WHAT IS AN ULTRASOUND?
Next Step offers free ultrasounds to verify pregnancy.
An ultrasound allows a sonographer (ultrasound specialist) to use a hand-held device on the skin that sends inaudible sound waves, which bounce off the internal structures and are then received by the device. The machine translates the sound waves into images on a monitor. This allows for a live-feed view of what is happening inside the body, including if there is a fetal heartbeat or movement.
There is no special preparation for your ultrasound exam. A specially trained sonographer will ask you a few questions relating to your pregnancy before the exam begins. Most ultrasounds are fast and easy, with little discomfort.
